Job Summary:

The Executive Director is the chief executive officer of the INLA, responsible for the overall management and administration of the association. This role involves strategic leadership, member engagement, financial management, advocacy, and program development to advance the mission and goals of the INLA. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and works collaboratively with industry stakeholders, government agencies, and other organizations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 1. Strategic Leadership:

   - Develop and implement the strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.

   - Provide visionary leadership to advance the association's mission and goals.

   - Identify and respond to industry trends, challenges, and opportunities.

 

2. Member Engagement:

   - Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with members, stakeholders, and partners.

   - Oversee membership recruitment, retention, and engagement initiatives.

   - Ensure the delivery of high-quality member services, benefits, and programs.

 

3. Financial Management:

   - Develop and manage the association's budget, ensuring financial sustainability and growth.

   - Oversee financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and compliance.

   - Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants and sponsorships.

 

4. Advocacy and Representation:

   - Represent the INLA in industry forums, government meetings, and public events.

   - Advocate for the interests of the nursery and landscape industry at the local, state, and

      national levels.

   - Build and maintain relationships with key policymakers, agencies, and organizatio

   - Oversee the planning, development, and execution of educational programs, conferences,

     and events.

   - Ensure the delivery of relevant and impactful training, certification, and professional

     development opportunities.

   - Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements as needed.

 

6. Communications and Marketing:

   - Develop and implement a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy.

   - Oversee the creation and distribution of association publications, newsletters, and

      digital content.

   - Enhance the association's visibility and reputation through effective branding and outreach.

 

7. Board Support and Governance:

   - Provide support and guidance to the Board of Directors and its committees.

   - Prepare and present reports, proposals, and recommendations to the Board.

   - Ensure compliance with governance policies, bylaws, and regulations.

 

8. Qualifications:

 - Minimum of 5 years of executive or senior management experience, preferably in a

    trade association, non-profit organization, or related industry.

- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.

- Experience in financial management and fundraising.

- Knowledge of the nursery and landscape industry is highly desirable.

- Ability to travel as required.

 -Competitive salary, proportionate with experience.
