Florist Manager – The Florist at
Edwards, a division of Edwards greenhouse, is
seeking a Manager to oversee the operations of the Florist. We
specialize in custom floral arrangements, tropicals and garden
baskets. Responsibilities include:
• Budget management, covering profit margins
• Increase marketing and market share, including involvement
with the Marketing Committee
• Streamline processes for efficiency
• Will work with greenhouse manager’s on various items,
i.e. the Grower for certain product
• Manage several employees including scheduling, employee
relations etc.
• Ordering cut and potted plant and design material
• Designing floral arrangements including weddings, funerals
and weekly office orders
• Address customers requests and concerns
Skills required are:
• Organizational
• Communication (specifically phone)
• Conflict management
• Analytical, yet creative
Requirements of the applicants are:
• 3-5 years florist management experience
• Must be able to work weekends (Saturdays and some holidays)

Grower – Edwards Greenhouse - a
local geothermal greenhouse and nursery is seeking a Grower. Will
grow many varieties of plants with specialties of geraniums, Easter
lilies and poinsettias. We are a retail and wholesale grower with
90% being sold through retail. We have 2 growing facilities 30 miles
apart and time will be split between the 2 facilities.
Grower will:
• Work with owner and managers to order appropriate quantities
of plant material and supplies
• Maintain planting schedule, including working with seeders,
propagators and transplanters
• Oversee all aspects of the production cycle including
crop quality, growth patterns, disease control, pest and water
management
• Work with retail manager’s to determine needs and
schedule
• Apply pesticides, fungicides, and regulatory growth control
as needed
Skills needed:
• Troubleshooting and decision-making
• Organization
• Communication
• Detail oriented
Requirements are:
• Bachelors degree in Horticulture or related degree, or
equivalent experience (8 years experience as a grower) plus;
• 5-10 years experience as a grower in a retail facility
• Pesticide applicators license
• Pay – depending upon experience
